Problem: Zurn Plumbing in Chamblee, Georgia, specializes in residential and commercial pipe relining, tackling old cast iron, concrete and terracotta pipes plagued by roots and scaling. When one of the company’s jetters began showing its age, a replacement was needed that could keep up with a demanding workload.
Solution: “We have a 22-year-old Harben unit that’s still running strong,” general manager Matt Zurn says. “It’s been incredibly durable, and that’s why we went back to Harben for our new machine. I’ve never had to repair the pump on it. You just don’t see equipment last like this anymore.” Within three and half weeks of initially reaching out, a new custom-built E180 Harben jetter was ready. Training was minimal. The Zurn Plumbing team quickly adapted and needed minimal guidance.
Result: The new machine is a true workhorse, often running all day, every day, powering Zurn Plumbing through a variety of jobs. “Harben machines just keep running,” Zurn says. “This equipment keeps us moving without worrying about breaking down.” 770-889-9535; www.harben.com
Problem: A Midwestern contractor was called to a fast food restaurant dealing with repeated backups that shut down restrooms and floor drains. The line had been snaked multiple times, but the relief was always temporary. Since the sewer ran beneath the slab, the contractor needed a clear picture of what was happening and a way to show the customer why the problem kept coming back.
Solution: The contractor set up the Subtech Junior Push Camera at an existing clean-out and began recording the inspection. With 180 feet of slim, flexible push cable, the unit was able to reach deep into the line and navigate several turns under the slab. The self-leveling head kept the picture upright. The distance counter tracked progress through the pipe, and the built-in sonde allowed the exact problem spot to be marked from the surface.
Result: The recording showed a collapsed section about 85 feet in, where waste and grease were catching and building up into repeat blockages. With the problem documented on video and precisely located, the contractor opened the slab only at that spot, replaced the section, and had the line restored. Instead of guesswork or repeated service calls, the customer got proof, a targeted plan and a lasting fix. 877-754-3435; www.subtechmfg.com
