Sewer and drain cleaners looking to expand their business or get a leg up on the competition will want to explore the latest products and technology at the 2016 Water & Wastewater Education, Treatment & Transport (WWETT) Show Feb. 17 through 20 in downtown Indianapolis.

Covering 540,000 square feet of the Indiana Convention Center, WWETT attracted nearly 14,000 visitors from 53 countries in 2015 with 86 percent saying new products and technologies are the main reason they attend and keep coming back.

Here’s a look at some of the products that will be on display:

Pumps

A.R. North America

The RTP30.60 triplex plunger pump from A.R. North America delivers consistent high pressure and flow. Its wet end has hardened heat-treated SST plungers with a long-life coating, a forged brass manifold providing a better flow performance strength and no porosity, a triple-staged sealing system and newly designed valves. The drive end has a vibration-resistant cast iron crankcase, forged crankshaft, bronze connecting rods, oversized taper roller bearings and dual-lip plunger rod oil seals. Multiple mounting holes offer a retrofit to many Cat, Pratissoil and Giant pump models. Performance is up to 7.9 gpm and 8,700 psi. 763/398-2008; www.arnorthamerica.com; Booth 1211.

Cat Pumps

The Model 3560 high-pressure water pump from Cat Pumps has two performance ratings – 35 gpm at 3,000 psi or 20 gpm at 4,000 psi. It is designed for equipment operating in high-duty cycle/remote applications, such as hydroexcavating and jetting. It can be direct-driven hydraulically or pulley-driven from motor or engine. V-packings and low-pressure seals are completely lubricated and cooled, increasing pump life. No external oilers are required. The wet end is easily serviced without entering the crankcase. Its 316 stainless steel discharge manifold is optimal for hydroexcavating and other high-duty cycle applications. 763/780-5440; www.catpumps.com; Booth 2262.

Comet USA

EF and ES HPP series triplex plunger pumps from Comet USA include a symmetric crankcase that has a top and bottom fixing for easy right-to-left-shaft conversion. They have shaft-supported, oversized, tapered roller bearings for long duration and stainless steel suction/delivery valves featuring a spherical design of sealing areas. The pumps are available with direct-drive mount or side gearbox in three gear ratios and can be positioned on both sides of the pump at a variety of degrees. 800/864-1649; www.cometpump.com; Booth 2236.

Franklin Electric

The FPS IGPH Series of high-head grinder pumps from Franklin Electric are engineered for the tough demands of higher head conditions found in many low-pressure sewage transfer applications. Available in an automatic or manual version, they use a proven cutter system with tight clearances for superior grinding at 414,000 cuts per minute. Features include two non-clogging impeller stages for efficient pumping of sewage slurries with a shut-off head of 200 feet and 16 full-load amps at minimum head requirements of 100 feet. 866/271-2859; www.franklinengineered.com; Booth 2442.

Giant Industries

Medium-duty P500 Series pumps from Giant Industries are designed for continuous duty applications. With a power range up to 37 hp, applications include sewer cleaning and industrial use. The flow range is up to 26.4 gpm and the pressure range is up to 1,740 psi. The temperature range is up to 104 degrees F. Features include forged brass manifolds, stainless steel valves, solid ceramic plungers, forged, ground and hardened crankshafts, bronze connecting rods, and nitrile seals with fabric reinforcing. 800/633-4565; www.giantpumps.com; Booth 1337.

Hydra-Tech Pumps

The S3SHR 3-inch hydraulic-drive submersible shredder pump from Hydra-Tech Pumps continuously rips and shears solids with 360-degree shredding action. It uses an open-vane shredder impeller with tungsten carbide cutting tip. Its compact size allows it to fit in tight spaces. A guide rail assembly is available for stationary applications. Depending on the application, there is a version for portable or fixed installations. The safe and variable-speed hydraulic drive can be used where electric power is hazardous or impractical. 570/645-3779; www.hydra-tech.com; Booth 3021.

Safety Equipment, Storage

Milwaukee Rubber Products

The Gas Alert Micro Clip from Milwaukee Rubber Products provides protection from atmospheric gas hazards. It offers visual compliance at a glance with the flashing green IntelliFlash. One-button operation reduces training time and lets workers focus on the job. The continuous LCD shows real-time gas concentrations. The unit is water-resistant with a built-in concussion-proof boot and multi-language support. It is powered by a rechargeable lithium polymer battery. 800/325-3730; www.milwaukeerubber.com; Booth 3032.

It has five lighting modes that include a spotlight for distance and floodlight for close-up illumination. Powered by three AAA batteries, it is rated IP-X7 waterproof, has a 2-meter drop rating and weighs 3.4 ounces. The sleek profile incorporated in the engineered polymer headlamp is accentuated by a multi-position ratchet tilt design that clips directly to a helmet, hard hat, fire helmet or the like. 800/233-2155; www.mynightstick.com; Booth 5420.

UltraShore

UltraShore is made of a specially corrugated lightweight aluminum. It is easy to use, and lightweight enough for one person to lower a single pair of assembled panels into an excavation. All panels can be used horizontally or vertically and are stackable. This allows them to be safe for bury depths up to 12 feet, even in class C soils. Spring-loaded end panels allow for three- and four-wall applications. Leg kits and wheel kits add the versatility many plumbers, municipalities and utility companies require to meet OSHA regulations. 800/746-7464; www.shoring.com; Booth 5005.
