How do you clean large-diameter pipes full of water and sediment? Bottom cleaning nozzles can be effective, but they require multiple passes, using a significant amount of water and fuel, not to mention time spent on the site. Or you could consider the use of an ejector style nozzle. Enter the SWEAGLE from NozzTeq. Unlike some nozzles on the market that tend to clog up from debris like rags and large stones, the SWEAGLE stays clog-free.

The SWEAGLE combines a highly efficient pipe cleaning nozzle with built-in ejectors. It not only incorporates NozzTeq’s signature tube technology, but also an airflow design that can be found on the popular BL SWIPER Line, so it works perfectly in pipes where the project is to remove a lot of material at the lowest working pressure.

“The market has long been missing an effective ejector nozzle, utilizing the existing water in the pipe to move and transport debris in the pipe, such as sand, sludge and stones,” says Tony DeCarlo, NozzTeq general manager. “The main operating problem has been the jets did not reach out to the sides of the pipe, which resulted in material being left on the sides of the pipes.”

That isn’t an issue for the SWEAGLE. In pipes filled with water, the capacity of the built-in ejectors demonstrate efficiency in not only removing the water, but also removing debris and cleaning the pipes. In pipes with higher water levels, the ejectors create an extreme negative pressure, utilizing water in the pipe in combination with the water supplied from the jetting truck. This results in close to a doubling of the volume of water cleaning the pipe.

“We have always strived to improve performance and efficiency of our products, by improving existing products or developing new products,” DeCarlo says. “This was done with the help of our customers, including their knowledge, their input and needs.”

According to DeCarlo, the SWEAGLE performs well not only in water-filled pipes, but also in dry pipes.

“The key is the buildup of the water-directing system together with the exact design of the ejector system inside the jetting nozzle,” he says.
