Vortex Companies, a leading provider of trenchless water and sewer infrastructure rehabilitation solutions, recently announced the acquisition of Municipal & Contractors Sealing Products, a Cincinnati-based trenchless services provider, specializing in the rehabilitation of pipelines, manholes, culverts, tunnels and other critical water and wastewater infrastructure.
“MCSP has earned its reputation by safely and cost-effectively rehabilitating municipal storm water and sanitary sewer systems for more than two decades,” says Mike Vellano, Vortex CEO. “The combination of technical capability, field experience and customer trust is difficult to replicate. Bringing MCSP into Vortex gives us a stronger foundation in the Midwest and more ways to solve complex problems for the customers we serve.”
Founded in 2000 by Bob O’Connor, MCSP has spent more than 25 years refining specialized rehabilitation methods for municipalities and utilities across a variety of states within the U.S. Its teams have become highly skilled in geopolymer and cementitious spray lining, protective coatings, chemical grout injection and manhole rehabilitation, with a strong record of performance across a wide range of infrastructure applications.
“What we’ve built at MCSP comes from years of learning the work — understanding the materials, refining the methods and knowing what it takes to perform in the field,” says Drew O’Connor, CEO of MCSP. “Joining Vortex allows us to build on that experience and bring more solutions to the infrastructure challenges our customers are facing.”
“The opportunity isn’t simply to make the organization larger; it’s to make both teams better,” says Ram Vela, chief strategy officer of Vortex. “MCSP brings experience and operating knowledge that can strengthen Vortex, just as our broader platform can help MCSP scale. The value comes from putting those strengths to work across the business.”
