PipeLogix Partners with PipeAId
PipeLogix announced a strategic, long-term partnership with PipeAId, a provider of AI-powered solutions engineered to automate and improve condition assessment. The agreement and integration will enable users of the PipeLogix Phoenix software to automate the recognition and coding of sewer and stormwater system defects and features within their existing workflow, resulting in greater data accuracy and operational efficiency.
PPI publishes new ASTM F3722 standard
The Plastics Pipe Institute has published the new ASTM F3722 Standard Practice for Heat Fusion Joining of Polypropylene (PP) Pipe and Fittings by ASTM International. PPI building and construction division members and the ASTM F17 technical committee developed the new standard practice across several years and is based on industry best practices and consensus of the contributing members. ASTM F3722-24 describes procedures for making joints with pressure-rated polypropylene pipes, fittings and valves by butt fusion, socket fusion, sidewall outlet fusion or electrofusion methods, with a separate section dedicated to each type of fusion. The fusion practices are applicable for both factory and field environments.
Avanti’s VP of operations retires
After 25 years working at Avanti International, Vice President of Operations Frank Aguilar retired in December. He began his career at Avanti in June 1999, and over the years he held a variety of roles, including inside sales, regional sales manager, technical product manager and vice president of customer service. Throughout his tenure, Aguilar played a key role as a member of Avanti’s leadership team, contributing to the achievement of strategic operational objectives and day-to-day business operations. He also provided essential guidance and support, ensuring that customers receive the highest level of product performance and service. Prior to Avanti, Aguilar worked in the petroleum industry for 20 years with worldwide assignments in 58 different countries.
