The City of Denton, Texas, saved over $180,000 when they introduced JetScan to their sewer assessment workflow. The presentation “Denton’s use of Quick Cam (JetScan), Quick-Lock, and Cumulative Charts To Meet CMOM Goals and Enhance Operations Staff’s Participation”, describes why Denton chose to add JetScan to its sewer assessment mix and the outcomes it reaped from the decision. The presentation also mentions the use of ROVVER to help with the city’s pipeline rehabilitation.

Denton relies on JetScan to:

  • Efficiently document the results of cleaning measures
  • Rapidly identify offsets, collapses, infiltration, cross bores and any other maintenance issues
  • Select the right nozzle in order to resolve problems without multiple pass-throughs
  • Identify sewer lines that don’t require CCTV inspection, thus saving time and resources

Conventional CCTV inspections cost the city an average of 83 cent per foot. JetScan costs them only 19 cents per foot. These savings quickly added up to a total of $181,674 for the 283,866 feet of sewer pipeline assessed.
