A judge has sentenced John Caldwell of Washington Township, New Jersey, to five years’ probation for violating the Water Pollution Control Act after he used a vacuum truck to empty his swimming pool.Caldwell pleaded guilty to causing or risking widespread injury or damage, The Associated Press reports.Prosecutors say Caldwell borrowed the vac truck from his employer in June 2014 to empty his pool. He then discharged the spoils into a storm drain located in front of his house.
