Dawe, Sales Manager for The Strong Company, Dies

Carl Dawe, 67, of Cumming, Ga., died on May 11. He had served as national sales manager of heavy products for The Strong Company Inc. since 2002. Dawe was born in Charleston, S.C., on Feb. 10, 1943, and graduated from the University of Missouri. He is survived by his wife, Sonya, mother, Dorothy, and sons Scott and Edward.

PressurePro Partners with PeopleNet

Advantage PressurePro, provider of PressurePro tire pressure monitoring products and technology, has partnered with PeopleNet, providers of Internet-based onboard computing and mobile communications systems for the transportation industry. The partnership enables PeopleNet to integrate PressurePro’s tire pressure monitoring capabilities with its legacy systems, beginning with its BLUTM in-cab PC.

Trojan Worldwide Issued Patent on Battery-Powered Drain Cleaner

Trojan Worldwide Inc. has been issued a patent on its battery-powered sewer and drain cleaner. The battery-driven cleaner eliminates the dangers of standing water, the need for extension cords and reduces noise impact.

Charles Machine Works Acquires HammerHead Trenchless

Charles Machine Works Inc., manufacturer of Ditch Witch underground construction equipment, has acquired 100 percent ownership of HammerHead Trenchless Equipment, manufactured by Earth Tool Company LLC of Oconomowoc, Wis. The acquisition makes ETC a wholly owned subsidiary of CMW. HammerHead is a leader in the design and manufacture of piercing tools, bursting systems, pneumatic hammers and horizontal directional drill tooling.

Mr. Rooter Donates Work to Ronald McDonald House Charities

Mr. Rooter Plumbing kicked off its national sponsorship of Ronald McDonald House Charities by donating money and supplies to the Ronald McDonald House in Sacramento, Calif. More than 45 Mr. Rooter franchise owners, employees and members of the corporate staff presented the charity with a check for $3,395 as well as kitchen and food supplies. Mr. Rooter plumbers will help by donating labor and supplies, including plumbing and drain cleaning work when needed. The sponsorship also includes four Mr. Rooter affiliate companies – Aire Serv, Glass Doctor, Mr. Appliance and Mr. Electric – that joined together with a national commitment of $100,000 annually.

Ormson, Designer of Fast-Vac, Dies at 66

John H. Ormson, a pioneer in the industrial vacuum loading industry and designer of three generations of Fast-Vac IVL trucks died Feb. 4 at age 66. Ormson was the founder, president and chief engineer of Ormson Corp. in Hartland, Wis. Fast-Vac IVL trucks are a division of Ormson Corp.

Waterjet, Municipal Cleaning Expo Aug. 17-19

The 2010 WaterJet Technology Association and Industrial & Municipal Cleaning Association Expo will be held Aug. 17-19 at George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston. Product displays include high-pressure waterjet systems, high-pressure pumps, environmental and waste management solutions, wet/dry vacuum trucks, drain and sewer maintenance, waterjet cutting, waterblasting and hydrodemolition equipment.
