The plumbing community has lost one of its own, but the industry now has a chance to do something special for the little boy Sean Christopher O’Hara left behind.

O’Hara, a plumbing service technician with Mr. Rooter Plumbing Pittsburgh and Youngstown, died when the vehicle he was riding in hit a pole Sunday morning in Beaver Falls, Pa., according to state police. O’Hara was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. He was just 22. His brother, who was driving the 1994 Ford Ranger, was reportedly airlifted to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A bank account has been established for 2-year-old Landon Christopher Stanley O’Hara, the plumbing technician’s only son. Landon will turn 2 on July 24, without his father. He resides with his mother, Katie Lynn Stanley, in Enon Valley, Pa.

Bob Beall, president of Mr. Rooter Plumbing Pittsburgh and Youngstown immediately established The Landon O’Hara Fund for O’Hara’s son.

“My wife and I have fostered 15 children and adopted three,” Beall said. “Our hearts are breaking for Landon, who will grow up without his daddy.”

A goal has been set to raise $50,000 in 120 days. The first 100 donors within Mr. Rooter Plumbing Pittsburgh and Youngstown’s service area will be automatically registered for Mr. Rooter’s Daily Tips and will receive Mr. Rooter Plumbing’s Valued Customer Protection Plan for five years, a $199.95 value.

Donations can be made through the fund’s website, www.indiegogo.com/mrrootermedia, and can also be mailed, In care of Landon O’Hara, to First National Bank, 20100 Route 19, Cranberry Township, PA 16066.
