Don't assume people know how to find you or know all about the services you can provide them. It's important to be proactive and educate potential customers.

GPRS's latest initiative is a good example. The Ohio-based company, which focuses on all areas of utility locating, pipeline inspection and leak detection, is holding an event the week of Oct. 23-27 called Water and Sewer Damage Awareness Week. GPRS representatives will be doing free presentations across the country for anyone interested who owns and/or operates water and wastewater infrastructure, providing education on issues like nonrevenue water loss and undetected cross bores and what can be done about it.

Maybe it can spark some ideas for an educational campaign you could take on that would make your value more visible to potential customers.
