David Barton, Prime Resins president and founder, has stepped down after 37 years at the helm. Peter Battisti, previously Prime Resins' general manager and vice president of business development, is succeeding Barton as president.
Prime Resins originally started as an offshoot of Barton's successful contracting business, eventually surpassing it in revenue. The contracting business wound down operations in 2011.
Under Barton’s leadership, Prime Resins pioneered the use of polyurethanes for sealing leaks, was the first to package polyurethane injection resins in cartridges, and developed the first and award-winning Revolution compact slab lifting system. He also organized and served as the first president of the International Concrete Repair Institute.
Barton will continue to be involved in international business development for Prime Resins on a consulting basis and will continue to run another company he founded, LockDown Inc., which makes locking devices for manholes, hand holes, and other enclosures.
