WSSC approves infrastructure repair solutions from LMK Technologies
The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission, one of the largest water and wastewater utilities in the United States, has approved two infrastructure repair solutions from LMK Technologies — the Insignia End Seal Sleeve and the LMT (Lined Main Tap) Saddle — for use in sewer systems in Maryland’s Montgomery and Prince George’s counties.

Ditch Witch, a Charles Machine Works Company, hosted its annual international customer event at the Ditch Witch Barcelona Support Center on Oct. 23. The event set a record with nearly 300 customers and staff from more than 20 countries.

Allstate Power-Vac announces new equity investor
Allstate Power-Vac announced Nov. 2 that the company has finalized a strategic partnership with Kinderhook Industries and its affiliates. As a result of the partnership, Kinderhook, a private equity firm based in New York, has completed a significant equity investment in APV. The partnership will provide APV with access to new capital.

Continental reaches 1 million retreads milestone, partners with CMC Tire
Continental Tire North America set a new record of 1 million retreads on Oct. 29 at its ContiLifeCycle facility located in Morelia, Mexico. The company also announced a partnership with CMC Tire to expand its retreading network, including the opening of its first commercial tire retread facility in Las Vegas. The new retread facility can produce up to 24,000 retreads annually with the capacity to grow to 48,000.

Hanson Building Products announces company name change
Hanson Building Products has changed its name to Forterra following the recent sale of the company. The company will continue to operate its five U.S. and Canadian divisions as well as its building products division in the United Kingdom. Plans are to continue production of all existing product lines through its more than 130 facilities.

Trelleborg Pipe Seals expands operations in Lithuania
Trelleborg’s pipe seals operation has recently integrated additional pipe liner production capabilities at its manufacturing facility in Taurage, Lithuania. The new technology was obtained from TWE/Trelit along with its customer base. The new manufacturing line is expected to commence production in November and will see a new product added to the company’s pipe liner portfolio, the Drainliner PP.

Envirosight names channel development manager
Envirosight has announced the hire of Steve Webster as channel development manager. Webster will split his time between product and service management for the company’s regional sales partners. With over 32 years of industry experience, he’ll be tasked with conducting product launches and product demos.

Alcara to acquire GE Grid Solutions’ electricity meters business
Aclara has announced that its affiliate has signed an agreement to acquire the electricity meters business currently operating within GE Energy Management’s Grid Solutions subdivision, also known as GE Meters. The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2015. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
