Flexible Grouting Packers Used to Seal Pipe

Logiball’s Long Span Flexible Grouting Packers were recently used by Florida contractor TeleVac South to seal longitudinal cracks in 8-inch vitrified clay pipe. TeleVac South’s work consisted of reducing groundwater infiltration prior to CIPP lining. The mainline joints were grouted with standard packers, only to have the groundwater infiltration move to the longitudinal cracks and other defects in the sewer pipe section.

Kevin Beyer, TeleVac South general manager, contacted Logiball, who suggested the Long Span Flexible Grouting Packers approach. Four successful grouting interventions were performed in one day to stop the inflow and infiltration through the longitudinal cracks in the 8-inch VCP. Under regular circumstances, these pipe sections would have needed to be dug up and repaired prior to CIPP lining.

This approach allowed the CIPP contractor to stay on schedule and reduce his costs.
