In this video from the 2022 WWETT Show, Mike Selby of Vac-Con discusses the company’s new wear-resistant boom elbow, which is reinforced with tungsten-infused carbide.

“It’s traditionally a high wear item when you go from vertical to horizontal,” Selby says. “What the tungsten-infused carbide does is it adds about a 1/4 inch of thickness to the elbow itself and also reduces the wear.”

In the video, Selby backs up that claim by showcasing a used boom elbow with more than 1,800 hours of use in the field.

“We can do this boom elbow for a new build or as a retrofit option for existing equipment,” Selby says.
