Steve “Jonesie” Jones covers how hose size relates to actual jetter flow (gpm) and pressure drop, and debunks a common misconception about using hose size to increase jetter flow.

Jonesie also compares 3/8-inch and 1/2-inch jetting hose sizes, recommending 3/8-inch hose for up to 10 gpm maximum to keep the pressure drop to about 1 1/2 psi per foot of hose, or increasing to 1/2-inch hose if running 12 gpm or more to also keep pressure drop to around 1 1/2 psi per foot.
