Excavation Safety University will host the Pipeline Locating and Damage Prevention webinar Friday, Aug. 29, at 11 a.m. CST. The 90-minute webinar provides an in-depth look into the fundamentals of pipeline locating and encroachment management. 

Discussion will focus on several different types of locating technologies, the steps to line locating and working with excavators digging on or near the right of way, pipe coating inspection and problem pipeline locates. 

Presenter Bob Nighswonger is president and CEO of Utility Training Academy Inc. and a professional line locating instructor. Nighswonger has 27 years of line locating and damage prevention industry experience. He began his career as a multiple utility locator, performing both One Call Location and S.U.E. locating and has performed over 60,000 successful line locates. 

Nighswonger has personally trained over 5,000 individuals in the art and science of utility locating. As a Quality Analyst and Corporate Quality Assurance Manager he has performed root cause analysis on thousands of underground utility line damages.
