Special Nozzles Help Make Vacuuming More Efficient

GuzzlerGrip vacuum nozzles from Guzzler Manufacturing are designed to reduce operator fatigue, boost productivity and increase workplace safety.

“These nozzles help the guy at the end of the hose work safer and easier,” says John Stafford, sales manager of the F.S. Solutions Group. “Because it’s a lot less tiring to work with these nozzles, you’ll get more hours of work per day. It’s much better than using a broomstick duct-taped to a hose, which we’ve seen workers do.”

The new line offers seven designs, four made of lightweight aluminum to reduce fatigue. The line includes:

• Easy-lift, all-purpose aluminum nozzle.

• Aluminum backbone nozzle.

• Aluminum long-reach nozzle.

• Aluminum shovel nozzle (for loosening material while vacuuming).

• Steel long-reach nozzle (for handling abrasive materials).

• Steel flat-shovel nozzle (for flat surfaces and digging areas).

• Steel pit-cleaning nozzle (for vacuuming liquids in pits or manholes).

The steel flat-shovel, aluminum long-reach and aluminum easy-lift nozzles come in 4- and 6-inch widths/diameters. The aluminum backbone, steel long-reach and pit-cleaning nozzles come in only 6-inch diameters; and the aluminum shovel nozzle comes in a 4-inch width.

The nozzles have ergonomically designed handles that are comfortably spaced to reduce back strain and promote proper operating technique. “A lot of times, workers put their hands on the end of the hose to get it where they want it to go, and you definitely don’t want to do that,” Stafford says. “The nozzles have long handles that are designed to keep workers away from hazardous rotating machinery, such as conveyor belts.”

The nozzles also have harnesses that better distribute their weight, and are smartly angled to allow workers easier access to the materials. The improved ergonomics help retain employees: “It’s hard to keep people in this industry. The way to keep them is to make their work easier and safer.” For information: www.guzzler.com; 815/672-3171.
