AIMS Companies, a national industrial, municipal and utility services company, is expanding to the Southeast with the acquisition of Alexanders Industrial Services (AIS) headquartered in Phenix City, Alabama.

AIMS currently operates in nine markets, including Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Oklahoma in the Southern region, and will expand its footprint and service areas to include Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and Mississippi.

AIS has extensive experience in the Southeastern market and provides a full line of reputable industrial, municipal and environmental services with clients throughout the Southeast, and will begin operating this month as AIMS Companies.

“We are excited to continue our growth and to expand the reach of our services to serve customers in new markets,” says Chris Mihaletos, president of AIMS Companies, headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona. “Alexanders Industrial Services has built a strong reputation in the Southeast with services complementary to our existing portfolio, which made this a perfect partnership.”

AIMS Companies has experienced organic growth at an average rate of 20 percent per year since 2005, including the recent expansion to the Atlanta, Dallas/Fort Worth and Sacramento markets. But acquisition also remains a top way the company has achieved growth.

“We are fortunate to have good banking and capital behind us to aggressively pursue acquisitions,” Mihaletos said back in 2014 when the company was profiled in Cleaner magazine. “We’re looking at good companies that fit our portfolio of service or that can complement our core business. We want to focus on what we do best … stick with what we know. We also want to expand geographically. Our plan is to eventually have a presence throughout the United States and Canada.”

That mission remains on track with this latest acquisition and the expansion into the Southeast. It all started in 2007 when Mihaletos and wife Maria added AIMS and its hydroblasting, industrial vacuuming/cleaning, and steel and concrete cutting services to the fold two years after acquiring Pipeline Video Inspection. Not long after, AIMS Coatings was added to provide customers the complementary service of coatings and liners. Pipe cleaning and inspection company CleanServe, headquartered in Pearland, Texas, was acquired in 2014 to help AIMS Companies start to expand in that region.
