Designed to inspect pipes and passageways as narrow as 4 inches, the new RX95 from Envirosight is the latest addition to the ROVVER X line of video inspection crawlers. As with all ROVVER X crawlers, it is based on a compact, maneuverable footprint designed to overcome obstacles, and it incorporates a digital control architecture that makes it infinitely upgradeable. The RX95 works with any ROVVER X camera, controller and reel, so adding small-diameter capability is only an incremental investment for existing ROVVER X customers.

“For the environmental sector, narrow-diameter equipment is key to inspecting 6-inch relined pipe and 4-inch long-run laterals,” says Richard Lindner, president of Envirosight. “In these applications, the RX95 offers affordable add-on capability for any ROVVER X operator.

“For industrial customers, narrow-diameter pipes are even more commonplace. Because the RX95 is available with an ultra-portable manual reel and hand-held control pendant, it can be deployed even in the most difficult areas — like scaffolding, lifts and catwalks.”

As with all ROVVER X crawlers, the RX95 offers steerable six-wheel drive for maximum maneuverability; onboard sensors for tilt, roll, pressure and temperature; and a built-in selectable 412/640 Hz sonde for easy locating. Interchangeable wheels and other modular accessories adapt it to a wide range of pipe conditions, and pairing it with the ROVVER X long-range cable reel yields an impressive travel range of 1,640 feet. In addition to working with the standard ROVVER X pan/tilt/zoom camera, the RX95 is also available with low-profile pan/tilt and axial cameras (either is required for 4-inch applications), along with ultra-portable manual reels in 330- and 660-foot lengths.

ROVVER X is the one pipe inspection system that lets an operator do everything — control inspections, view and record digital video, log observations, generate reports, and link directly to asset-management software. All this capability is packed into a simple three-piece layout, with no CCU or other components to clutter the workspace.

Though remarkably self-contained, ROVVER X is built on an expandable digital backbone. Not only can an operator add side-scanning and laser profiling, he or she can view data from onboard sensors, automate tasks with macros, and measure defects onscreen. And future capabilities are limitless — ROVVER X’s firmware updates automatically to the latest features, and its architecture is ready for any accessory — even ones that don’t yet exist.

Advanced technology aside, ROVVER X is built for the rigors of sewer inspection. Twelve wheel options — plus camera lift, carriage and illumination accessories — mean ROVVER X transforms in seconds to inspect any size line. Its six-wheel drive with proportional steering navigates past obstacles, and overlapping wheels climb offsets better than tracks. Powerful motors and a geared drive train maximize range and pivot capability, even with carriage and 10-inch knobby tires installed.

ROVVER X continues this tradition with unsurpassed video resolution and 50 perfect more illumination, leaving no detail hidden. Its powerful reel monitors cable tension optically to prevent slack and minimize resistance, allowing one-man operation. And self-diagnostic capabilities, plus access to operating history, only enhance the uptime of the one crawler that already leads the industry.
