The multipurpose Guzzcavator from Guzzler combines the performance of a Guzzler CL vacuum loader with the versatility of a Vactor HXX hydroexcavator.

The unit’s air filtration system features sixty 70-inch Dacron filter bags for wet/dry industrial cleaning. Designed for cleaning and recovering solids and dry bulk powders, liquids, slurries and thick sludge, the multipurpose truck also can be used for potholing, slot trenching and water valve box repair, as well as locating fiber optic lines, cable and other utilities.

“While it’s certainly an ideal truck for supporting the oil and gas production and distribution industry, the Guzzcavator was initially designed for current Guzzler industrial cleaning contractor customers looking to grow their business by expanding their service offerings,” says Ben Schmitt, product manager at Guzzler Manufacturing.

The truck’s 1,300-gallon stainless steel water tank provides up to seven hours of continuous operation and removes debris by delivering up to 20 gpm of water and 2,500 psi when hydroexcavating.

“The Guzzcavatior’s weight is distributed to maximize water carrying capacity to legally carry a full tank of water to the job site,” Schmitt says. “The modular design of the Guzzcavator separates the water tank from the debris body [16-cubic-yard capacity] so only the debris body is raised when off-loading, providing a more stable off-load.”

The multi-flow water pump provides water pressure adjustment with the push of a button for various digging conditions. The water system is powered by a hydraulically operated triplex piston water pump, which can be mounted in an optional heated cabinet for cold protection. The optional water heater (400,000 Btu or 800,000 Btu) provides the ability to operate in frozen or compact soil.

“The multipurpose aspect [of the truck] allows the typical contractor to operate their equipment throughout the year by offering additional services, such as tank cleaning and hydroexcavation,” Schmitt says.

The truck has a 5-foot telescoping boom with 270-degree rotation, providing 21 feet of reach. The 8-inch-inside-diameter hose allows for passage of large or thick material. An extendable boom is available. Other features include full-opening rear door and rear-door-mounted sludge pump for off-loading. A wireless remote is standard and includes boom controls, full water pump control, vacuum enable/disable and emergency stop.

Toggle switch controls are mounted in a single, fully sealed aluminum panel for easy monitoring of the blower tachometer, E-Stop, blower temperature and hour meter, hydraulic, vacuum and air pressure gauges. Wiring is harnessed and color-coded. Each circuit is function stamped and individually grounded.
