Sauereisen names Entrepreneur of Year

J. Eric Sauereisen, president of Pittsburgh-based Sauereisen, a third-generation manufacturer of corrosion-resistant materials, was named Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young in the Family Business category in the Western Pennsylvania/West Virginia region.

SPIR STAR names sales representatives

SPIR STAR named Keith Tierney and Carolina Sanchez sales representatives. They will assist in the development of the company’s sales strategies and help maximize customer satisfaction and performance.

Vacuum Truck Rentals opens Ohio location

Vacuum Truck Rentals opened a rental location in Marietta, Ohio. Chuck Cisler will manage the store. The rental center is the company’s eighth location. Other stores are located in Deer Park, Texas; Geismar, La.; Richland, Miss.; Gastron, S.C.; Worcester, Mass.; Oakland, N.J.; and Merrillville, Ind.

Nu Flow expands sales team

Pipe lining company Nu Flow America added four account managers to its national sales team. Chris Diaz will serve the Southern California region, John Zimmerman will serve the Maryland area, Mike Geraci will serve the Virginia market and Gus DeCarlo will serve the Miami-Dade County, Fla., area.

WJTA - IMCA elects board members

WJTA - IMCA elected seven new members to its board of directors. They include Fred D. Clark of IVS Hydro, Kay Doheny of Jack Doheny, Bill Gaff of Vacuum Truck Rentals, Mohamed Hashish of Flow International, Bill McClister of Veolia Environmental Services, Gary Noto of Aquilex HydroChem and George A. Savanick, consultant. They join current board members Luis Garcia of CSM Supply, Kathy Krupp of The Dow Chemical Company, Larry Loper of High Pressure Equipment Co., Kerry Siggins of StoneAge and Forrest Shook of NLB Corp.

Electro Scan receives innovation award

Electro Scan was named recipient of the 2013 Innovation Technology Award by the Water Environment Federation (WEF). Electro Scan received the award for its ES-620 leak detection product, an add-on to existing television inspection trucks that locates and measures leaks in sewers not visible by high-resolution CCTV cameras.

Thompson Pump relocates Mississippi branch

Thompson Pump & Manufacturing Co. relocated its southern Mississippi branch from Pass Christian to a larger facility in Biloxi. The 4,000-square-foot building is located on two acres near the I-10 corridor and is one of 21 Thompson branch offices nationwide.

Industry leader passes

Jim O’Brien, Sr., passed away Sept. 5 at the age of 82. O’Brien was an innovator who entered the industry in 1953 and founded Sewer Equipment Co. of America in 1972 with one employee (his wife) and one phone line. The Dixon, Ill.-based company is now headed by his son, Dan O’Brien.

GPS Insight receives Best in Biz Award

GPS Insight, provider of GPS fleet tracking software, was named a silver winner in the Enterprise Product of the Year category for the Best in Biz Awards 2013 International.

Raven hires vice president, expands operations

Raven Products named Mark J. D’Agostino vice president of sales and business development. Based in Westborough, Mass., the company is expanding distribution of its plumbing and heating supplies throughout the United States.

Hi-Vac adds inside sales, regional managers

Hi-Vac Corp. named Brent Muskin inside sales manager and Dave Oman regional sales manager for contractor sales in the western United States. Muskin will oversee products sold through contractors (X-Vac and UltraVac) as well as industrial sales (Hi-Vac and UltraVac).

Sewer Equipment Co. of America expands

Sewer Equipment Co. of America relocated its manufacturing operations to a 120,000-square-foot facility in Dixon, Ill. The new plant includes 12 overhead cranes with 15-ton ratings, paint facility, quality control test center, inventory center, engineering facilities and conference rooms.
